Barry Sandstrom, president and CEO of Home Federal Bank, has lived in Grand Island, Neb., since he joined the bank as a real estate loan officer in 1977.
Mr. Sandstrom earned a master’s degree in educational administration in 1975 and a bachelor’s degree in education in 1971 from Kearney State College in Nebraska. Prior to his banking career, he spent six years in education as a teacher and administrator.
Mr. Sandstrom has served on various local and regional boards during his time in Grand Island, including nine years on the CHI Health St. Francis Board. His current board commitments include: chairman of the Heartland Events Center Board in Grand Island, chairman of the Community Redevelopment Authority in Grand Island, and board member of the Midwest Housing Equity Group in Omaha, the Hall County Sheriff’s Commission, and the CHI Nebraska/Southwest Iowa Network.
